Physiological Monitoring

First responders have been observed to be at an increased risk of cardio-vascular diseases compared to the general population. A high percentage of cardiac events are known to occur during mission execution. Continuous physiological monitoring during missions can, therefore, be effective in reducing the number of fatalities. The aim of our technology is to achieve continuous and automated health monitoring of firefighters over long durations using both wearable wireless physiological sensors and smart diagnostic algorithms. This would enable alerting of appropriate personnel to quickly recall or rescue those in danger and also ensure swift medical intervention, resulting in better prognosis.
